Ramusio was published in his "Terzo volvme delle navigationi et viaggi ... Venetia, 1556," l. 371-414. It was translated from the Italian into Spanish by Joaquin Garcia Icazbalceta, in 1849, and published as an appendix to his Spanish translation of Prescott's "History of the conquest of Peru." It was republished in "Obrás de ... García Icazbalceta," Mexico, 1898, v.8. The present English translation is from the Spanish text issued by García Icazbalceta in 1849. cf. Translator's pref., p.6.
